A luxury outerwear collection created for real women. Designed in Minneapolis, Made in NYC.
For Fall/Winter 2016, Cocoon is focusing on the foundation of a winter wardrobe – outerwear. As a Minnesota native, designer Elizabeth Geisler knows the importance of investing in a jacket that is beautiful and keeps you warm, as your jacket is often the first thing people see. The collection is expertly crafted in New York using the finest fabrics with a focus on fit and quality. The jackets are designed to work within a woman’s life – from coffee runs to black tie events – and to make her feel beautiful.
“The outer layer is truly the piece that defines your look. It's the finishing touch, it’s the finale that communicates your personal style to the world.”
– Kate Ciepluch, Former Fashion Director, Shopbop
Elizabeth fell in love with fashion upon trying on her first gown, loaned from her beloved grandmother, a former fashion model. This particular gown happened to have been about three feet too long, but she immediately understood it was special, and that it made her feel beautiful. This moment sparked a life-long interest in fashion and design, which led Elizabeth to teach herself how to sew, attend design school, and work amongst top designers in America and Europe.
Cocoon was born out of a frustration for the lack of attention to detail, quality, and fit in the clothing that was readily available to the modern woman. Elizabeth saw firsthand that products designed for the runway frequently did not translate to what real women would want to wear, so she built a company focused on pairing modern styles with the perfect fit and luxurious fabrics. Cocoon is designed for women who may not walk on red carpets, but who live beautiful, satisfying, and most importantly, real lives.
